Nicholas J Higgins - Chief Executive Officer
Nicholas J Higgins is founder and CEO of VaLUENTiS and Dean of the International School of Human Capital Management. He is a noted expert in human capital management and organisational behaviour/performance. He has successfully worked with a significant number of organisations in the FTSE 100/Euro 300/S&P 500 companies, along with those ‘in local government, NHS and higher education. He is also a regular speaker at events and author of numerous publications, most recently the ‘Employee Engagement in Organisations: State of the Notion’ report 2013.
NJH is noted for his ability to challenge everyday thinking whilst offering pragmatic insights and solutions. He is the architect behind a number of groundbreaking ideas, notably: The 5D® Employee Engagement model, Management Pathfinder®, Human Capital Reporting Standards (GHCRS2006) and the Human Capital Composite Index (HCCI). As Dean of The International School of Human Capital Management, he was the original course programme director and architect behind the HCMI Masters qualification.
NJH is a DrHCMI, holds an MSc in Finance from the London Business School, and an MBA and Diploma in Management from the Open Business School. He is a Chartered Manager by profession (MCMI) and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM US), American Psychological Association (APA) and American Society of Quality (ASQ). He previously worked at top global consulting firms PriceWaterhouseCoopers (Human Capital Management), Towers Perrin (Strategy & Organisation) and Watson Wyatt (Human Capital Measurement). This spell in management consulting followed a successful management career spanning 15 years running various growth operations incorporating both organic and acquisition strategies.
Higgins has authored a number of articles including the Journal of Applied Human Capital Management - a dedicated journal for practitioners. Seminal papers include Competitive advantage through strategic human capital management, Devising an HCM strategy, Employee engagement (various), Evidence-based leadership, Organisation engagement: evaluating your human capital management signature, Brave new HR World, Real HR transformation and HR operational excellence. NJH is completing several publications due out in 2014 on Employee Engagement and Talent Management Strategy.

As co- founder of VaLUENTiS, Graeme has worked with clients in the field of strategic employee engagement, talent management and organisational analysis/measurement since 1996. His previous experience has been gained with Deloitte (Management Advisory Services), Towers Perrin (Strategy and Organisation) and Accenture (Strategy), focusing on human capital management, organisational strategy, measurement, and programme implementation.
Graeme has worked on over 200 projects for leading UK and top global organisations across private and public sectors. Graeme previously worked on a significant number of HR strategy and transformation projects. His experience covers 'end-to-end' implementation: business case development for shared services set-up; project management of HR transformation in parallel with implementation of SAP HR; establishment of measurement/benefits tracking approaches and reviews of HR service centre effectiveness.
In addition to his private sector clients, Graeme has a particular focus on Healthcare and Local Government sectors. He has particular experience in the establishment and management of consortium arrangements.
Graeme heads up VaLUENTiS' Client Delivery Assurance Team and is responsible for ensuring that VaLUENTiS' Quality Management System (VQMS) is integrated into external and internal delivery methodologies and project standards. He has led research activity on key VaLUENTiS reports, including the HCM100 study of human capital management and more recently the ‘Employee Engagement in Organisations’ report 2013, and has authored articles on organisational measurement and human capital management. Graeme's team is currently working on a series of associated reports and publications.
Graeme is an MHCMI and an Adjunct Professor at the International School of Human Capital Management. He also holds a BA(Hons) degree from the University of Oxford and is a member of the Chartered Management Institute.
